I recently moved/reconfigured my macro mat setup and thought it would be fun to show some of my painted collection. I’m pretty happy with the photo setup - these were all taken on an Iphone X (the backdrop is a MacroMat and I have two photo lights, cheapies from Amazon). These are all figures I painted ages ago, its fun to go back and look at old work.

This is a random Dwarf character from Reaper

This is another Reaper character, I’m thrilled with the model, less impressed with the base. I may rebase her someday if I find occasion to use her.

Yet another Reaper character, this is a necromancer lady. Really cool model with a stellar pose. I’m considering getting into Undead for AoS at some point so she might find a home there.

I can’t remember the manufacturer for this last one, some kind of cool Meso-American fantasy model. I’m especially proud of this first one - the skin tone and blending on the headdress came out really well. I have a few more from this set I’ll have to dig up in the future.

Painting random characters, even when it isn’t for a specific system, can be really fun and is a good way to stay engaged with the hobby even while no projects really “spark joy”. I really enjoy painting just for painting’s sake and this post actually makes me want to stop by my hobby store and browse through the Reaper minis section….
